It’s quite surprising, but as 2017 is perhaps marked by a global economic slowdown, we haven’t seen Phase II funding move as quickly as expected for the Bouassa project, or at least everything seems to take much more time …

In other words, if we have not communicated much in recent weeks, it is more because of lack of news than anything else! However, just yesterday, we were contacted by the company that committed last October to sponsor the water tower that we want to build in Bouassa. They remain committed but they are still looking for the right “way” to make their donation (whether through their foundation or directly from their business….) In France, companies wanting to donate into projects like these are few and far between. And that is why things take a long time. So, apparently, nothing is keeping them from helping build the water tower… patience.

For the latrines, we also waiting for the water tower funds because the completion of Phase II of the Bouassa project will trigger other foundations to give for the ancillary projects. So, again…. patience!

Lastly, we received news from the organization that is interested in financing the pigsty project. Things got bogged down due to some misunderstandings, that we clarified. Theoretically, they should get back to us “soon.”

In short, after a very dynamic Phase I, Phase II seems to be a little more complicated. Nevertheless, we know that things will come together.  We still have some more contacts with other foundations and we hope that all this will happen this year.

On your side, you can continue to support the project. Donations are still welcome and tax-exempt for French residents and are used to feed the children, plant trees, add garbage cans to the site, buy soap and toothpaste, etc. In other words, we still and will always need you!

Thank you for staying connected to the Bouassa project because …
